It's a seasonal brew that is only brewed during the winter season. First off, there is no chocolate in this beer. I don't drink beer with chocolate in it. The chocolate refers to the shade of the malted barley roast. Stouts are ales that are brewed with a very dark malt roast. This particular stout is an imperial stout. Imperial stouts use a tremendous amount of malt leading to a tremendous body and tremendous amount of alcohol. This is my favorite Imperial stout. Enough sweetness without being too sweet. Hopped mildly but enough to counteract the thick malty sweetness. Tons of body. Lots of alcohol (10% for 2009). I am noticing clove for the first time this year but it is a welcome addition to this powerhouse of flavor. 9/10 </p>
